How much does it cost to upgrade my electrical panel?

Most whole-panel upgrades in the Valley land in a few-thousand-dollar range depending on whether you're going to 200-amp service, how the meter and mast are run, and what the utility and inspector require. We won't guess at it over the phone. We open the panel, photograph what's inside, and hand you a flat-rate written quote you approve before any work starts, and that number is the number you pay, even if the job turns out harder than it looked.

My breakers trip every time the AC kicks on. Do I need a whole new panel?

Accepted Answer

Not always. Nuisance tripping in a Phoenix summer is usually an overloaded circuit or a panel sized for a swamp cooler, not a 5-ton AC. Sometimes the fix is a dedicated circuit or a subpanel; sometimes the panel really is maxed out and needs upgrading. We thermal-scan the connections and check your real load first, then quote the smallest fix that actually solves it, not the biggest one.

I have a Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel. Is it really a fire risk?

Accepted Answer

Those panels are known for breakers that don't trip when they should, and many insurers now flag or refuse to cover them. We replace them with properly sized 200-amp service, label every breaker, and pull the permit so it passes inspection. If you're selling, getting one of these out ahead of the inspection report usually saves a scramble at closing.

Can you install my EV charger in one visit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your Level 2 charger gets its own dedicated circuit, load-balanced against your existing panel so nothing else trips, and we wire and inspect it in a single visit. If your panel doesn't have the capacity, we'll tell you that up front in the quote rather than discovering it halfway through. We're a Tesla Certified Installer, and we handle other chargers too.

Do you pull permits, or is that on me?

We pull every permit and meet the inspector ourselves, on every job that needs one. It's not an upsell, it's part of doing the work right. Unpermitted electrical can fail a home inspection, void insurance, and become someone else's emergency later. When we leave, the work is legal, inspected, and documented.

What's covered by your warranty?

Our panel and rewire work carries a lifetime workmanship warranty. If anything we installed ever fails because of how we did it, we come back and make it right, and if a job ever fails inspection, we fix it at no charge to you. Manufacturer warranties on parts like panels, generators, and chargers come from the maker, and we register those for you.

Question 7

How long does a whole-home rewire take, and do I have to move out?

A typical single-family rewire runs a few days to about a week depending on the size of the home and how the walls are built. We work room by room, run fresh copper behind the walls, ground every outlet to code, and keep the power on to the parts of the house we're not in whenever we safely can, so most families stay put through it. We lay drop cloths, vacuum the drywall dust, and leave the panel area cleaner than we found it.

I smell burning or see sparks. What do I do right now?

Turn off the main breaker if you can reach it safely, unplug what you can, and call our 24/7 emergency line at (602) 555-0174. A burning smell, sparks, or a dead panel gets a same-day call-out. Don't wait it out, those are the symptoms that turn into an actual fire, and we'd rather come look at a false alarm than miss a real one.
